Our overseas study programs are characterized by direct exchange with business schools in East Asia, which has maintained economic interdependence with Japan and has sustained high economic growth and the visit of outstanding local companies. We aim to help students develop an international way of thinking in business and to create a new human connection.This summer, students took special lectures at business schools of National Taipei University and Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou and participated in panel discussions with current and former students of the MBA and EMBA courses. They also visited local companies and Japanese affiliated companies to interview their executive managers.
On September 5, students visited National Taipei University to meet with former Director Wen Chang FANG of the Department of Business Administration. In the morning, they took BS special lecture titled “Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Taiwanese”, by Prof. Chang Mao SHEN, Department of Business Administration, Tamkang University. In the afternoon, they took a special lecture titled “Acquisition of Sharp and Future Partnership of Japan-Taiwan Companies” by Mr. Edward HUANG, Board Director of Foxconn Technology Group, followed by a discussion with graduates of the EMBA course of the Department of Business Administration, National Taipei University. On September 8, they visited Dean Fan WANG and former Dean Xinchun LI, Sun Yat-Sen Business School (SYSBS), followed by BS special lecture, titled “Improvement of Competitiveness of Family Business and MBA Education” by Prof. LI. Then the students participated in a discussion and gathering with more than 20 current and former students of SYSBS. They were divided into groups consisting of both Japanese and Chinese studentsand exchanged opinions by theme in respective groups while presenting the contents of discussion.
To pay a courtesy call on companies and economic organizations on September 6, the students visited the HQ of Acer in Taipei to meet Mr. Robert WANG, Executive Director in charge of BYOC Product & Solutions. In the afternoon, they met Board Director Wen Yinn TSENG of HorngJou Ceramics Co. Ltd. and had a factory tour of ceramic products, followed by a meeting with Mr. Theodore HUANG, Chairman of TECO Electric & Machinery Co. Ltd. in Nan-Kang of Taipei who is also an Honorary Chairman of the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan. On September 7, they met Mr. Hirotada KASAJIMA, General Manager of Pronexus Taiwan Co., Ltd., which consults Japanese companies in Taiwan., Mr. Kasajima introduced the current situation of Japanese companies’ foray into the Taiwan’s market. On September 9, they visited Yamato International Logistics Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou to meet Vice General Manager, Mr. Kimura who escorted them to its Guangzhou Logistic Center and talked about operation development in the South China region. In the afternoon, they visited Grandblue Environment Co., Ltd., which develops extensive environmental business. After a tour of its factory, the company business was introduced by President Adele Jin.
