Mahidol University (Thailand) delegation visited the University of kitakyushu and signed an academic exchange MOU with the Center for chinese business studies

 On November 21, 2019, the Center for Chinese Business Studies (CCBS) of the University of Kitakyushu signed the MOU on Academic Exchange with the Center for China and Globalizing Asian Studies (CCGA) of Mahidol University in Thailand.

 Established in 1943 as Thailand’s first university of medical science, Mahidol University is the leading university in Thailand with 16 faculties, 9 research institutes, 5 colleges and 5 centers at 4 campuses including Bangkok. It was ranked as the top university in Thailand and the 97th in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2017-2018.

 The CCGA was established in 2016 and affiliated to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. It functions not only as a center of survey and research, but also provides professional education by granting Master’s and Doctor’s degrees in related specialized domains. At the end of 2018, Director WANG Xiao-ping of the CCBS visited the CCGA. Both Centers aim to promote surveys and research on the Chinese and East Asian Economies which have led to the growth of the global economy and to develop global human resources. Taking advantage of Director Wang’s visit, the two Centers started exchange activities, leading to the conclusion of the MOU.

 The Mahidol University delegation, consisting of 7 members including Associate Professor Luechai Sri-Ngernyuang, Director of the CCGA and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Dr. Duangporn Arbhasil, Dean, College of Management, visited the University of Kitakyushu and signed the MOU. Intending to facilitate the interregional relationship between Thailand and Northern Kyushu, they also visited the City of Kitakyushu Industry and Economics Bureau and Kitakyushu City Council. They had technical visits to the Kitakyushu Ecotown Center and Nissui Marine Kogyo Co. Ltd.

 The conclusion of the MOU has confirmed mutual support through overseas study programs for students and joint survey and research projects by researchers. It is expected that further promotion of both academic and student exchanges will be seen in the years to come.
